Hello Peter McLaughlin and museum volunteers.
my searching the media for items on the Boer War returned a link to the Boer War page on your website.
It’s good that the Light Horse acknowledges its Boer War antecedents who paved the way in so many military dimensions in South Africa just 12 years before their experience of mounted infantry combat had to be employed on the dreadful scale of WW1.

Best wishes for your museum and the hope that the pre WW1 aspect continues to be drawn to the public’s attention.

    cheers

      Thanks Keith,
Yes, the Boer war was so important in the formation of the Light Horse. All the best in your mission to construct a Boer War memorial in ANZAC Avenue. Your site has some very interesting research links.
      Kind regards,
      Janis Hanley
